The students of the INS Bernat Metge (Barcelona) are very motivated with the project DECIDES Europe

For a couple of months now, the theater workshop organized in Barcelona by the INS Bernat Metge in the Sant Martí district, has been developing the theater forum play to be interpreted in the framework of the project DECIDES Europe.

The Noctàmbul@s Observatory, the facilitating organisation in Barcelona, is working with a group of 14 students who are creating the play from their experiences, interests, and concerns related to gender inequality and its forms of violence.

So far, seven theatre sessions have been carried out and two more will be held before the summer holidays. The sessions of the next school year will be used to finalise the play and to perform it for students from other schools in Barcelona, Madrid, Bucharest and Aarhus.

Three theater performances will take place during the first quarter of the following school year. They will be held in Barcelona, at auditoriums of the Sant Martí district, and will be addressed to students from ten schools in the city. Also, training modules for teachers of these ten schools and talks for the families will be organized during the first quarter.

The participating students have assessed this experience very positively and have expressed their wish to continue next year to complete the play and, above all, to be able to share this experience with students from the other countries during the exchange visits.

Both the teachers of the school and the families are facilitating and supporting the project process for it to be an enriching and relevant experience for all the participants.
