The kick-off meeting within the framework of the project ‘DECIDES Europe: Preventing Gender-Based Violence, the Youth’s Outlook’ – a project co-funded by the European Union- was held from the 22th to 23th November 2018 at Interarts’ headquarters in Barcelona.
The meeting allowed the project consortium to agree on the working strategy that will be implemented for the development of the 2-year project. The ‘DECIDES Europe’ project seeks to contribute to the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) by improving awareness of young people about all forms of GBV, its causes, consequences and providing tools to prevent, recognize and counter it in three multicultural countries: Spain, Romania and Denmark.
The project will allow to develop theatre forum and visual arts workshops for young students to discuss and provide information about prevention, cultural and social aspects related to GBV. Seminars and trainings addressed to students will train them as peer educators and to teachers to increase their capacity of detecting potential victims.
DECIDES Europe was launched in September 2018 and will end in September 2020. It implemented by Interarts and Trabe (Spain), Transcena (Romania) and Kvindemuseet (Denmark). It is co-funded by the European Union within the Equality, Rights and Citizenship program.
